The C4 400°C 1/2h motorized cabinets are motorized ventilation fan units designed to keep running at 400°C for 30 minutes, a classification requested on certain installations in public-access buildings and residential blocks. Our range runs from 500 m³/h to over 13,000 m³/h, in single-phase 230V or three-phase 380V, with recognised trade brands such as Cairox, Nather and Saftair.

Frequently asked questions

What is a C4 400°C 1/2h motorized cabinet?

A C4 400°C 1/2h motorized cabinet is a motorized extraction fan unit classed to keep running at 400°C for 30 minutes. This classification is required on certain ventilation installations in public-access buildings or residential blocks, depending on the project configuration. Always check the regulatory requirement for your project before choosing your model.

What is the difference between a C4 cabinet (30 min) and an F400/120 cabinet (2h)?

The C4 classification corresponds to 400°C for 30 minutes and mainly concerns residential or public-access building mechanical ventilation cabinets; C4/60 (60 minutes) and C4/120 (120 minutes) also exist. The F400/120 classification, at 400°C for 120 minutes, generally concerns smoke extraction and especially commercial kitchens. These two classifications correspond to different high-temperature operating durations and are never interchangeable: the unit must match exactly the requirement of your installation.

What flow rate should be chosen for a C4 cabinet?

The flow rate is selected based on the volume to be ventilated, the number of connected grilles and the network's pressure losses (duct length, elbows, diameter). Our range of C4 cabinets offers flow rates from around 500 m³/h to over 13,000 m³/h: the stated flow rate is a motor reference figure, the actual flow rate depends on your network.

Do I need a single-phase or three-phase cabinet?

The small and medium flow rates in the range run on 230V single-phase, as is the case for the Nather cabinets and most of the Cairox EC Regulo units. For high flow rates, such as Saftair models from several thousand m³/h upwards, the supply switches to 380V three-phase: check your electrical installation before ordering.

How do you adjust the flow rate of a C4 cabinet?

Certain models accept a fan speed controller potentiometer to fine-tune the flow rate according to the actual needs of the installation. Two-speed cabinets, such as some Saftair models, natively offer two flow rate steps without any additional accessory. Others are self-regulating or hydro-adjustable.
