How to choose ventilation duct fittings

Ventilation duct fittings are used to connect the different components of an extraction system, including commercial range hoods, ducts, elbows, extraction fan boxes and other accessories.

The choice mainly depends on the duct diameter and the layout of the system. Correctly installed connections help reduce air leaks and unnecessary pressure losses.

Connectors, reducers and tees for ventilation ducts

A connector joins two ducts of the same diameter. A reducer connects ducts of different diameters, while a tee creates a branch in the ventilation system.

For installations that need to be removable or where vibration transmission needs to be reduced, a flexible connector can be installed between certain components of the system.

Connecting a commercial range hood extraction system

Before installation, check the diameter of each component and use suitable clamps, seals and connection accessories. Avoid unnecessary diameter changes and connections wherever possible to prevent additional pressure losses in the ductwork.
