Commercial kitchen hood without fan – Stainless steel extraction canopy

Stainless steel extraction hoods without fans for restaurants and commercial kitchens

Discover our range of commercial kitchen extraction hoods without fans, designed to capture cooking fumes, steam, grease and odours in restaurants, takeaways, kebab shops, pizzerias, catering establishments and commercial kitchens.

Manufactured from stainless steel and fitted with stainless steel grease filters, our extraction canopies are designed for connection to a suitable extraction system: remote fan, extraction fan box or roof fan.

What is a commercial kitchen hood without a fan?

A commercial hood without a fan, also known as a static extraction canopy or unpowered hood, is supplied without an integrated extraction fan. It captures cooking fumes and steam above the cooking area, while the air is extracted by a remotely installed fan.

This configuration allows the extraction fan to be selected according to the required airflow, hood dimensions and ductwork characteristics.

Extraction canopy with remote fan box or roof fan

A commercial kitchen extraction canopy can be connected to different extraction systems. The choice depends on the required airflow, duct diameter and length, number of bends and available space for the fan.

Extraction fan box: allows the fan to be installed away from the hood, indoors or outdoors depending on the model and installation.
Roof fan: particularly suitable when the extraction fan is to be installed on the roof.
F400/120 extraction fan: available for installations requiring an extraction system capable of operating at 400 °C for 120 minutes.

How to choose a stainless steel commercial kitchen hood without a fan

The choice of a restaurant extraction hood without a fan mainly depends on the dimensions of the cooking area and the appliances installed beneath it. The canopy must provide sufficient coverage to capture cooking fumes, steam and grease effectively.

The hood length and depth, required extraction airflow, duct diameter and ductwork configuration should therefore be considered together when designing the installation.

A hood without a fan for a custom extraction system

Choosing a stainless steel hood without an integrated fan provides greater flexibility when designing a commercial kitchen extraction system. The fan can be positioned away from the cooking area and sized according to the actual requirements of the installation.

This solution is suitable for restaurants, takeaways, kebab shops, fast-food restaurants, pizzerias, pubs, bakeries, food preparation areas and commercial catering kitchens, as well as other food businesses requiring professional extraction.

Hood only or complete commercial kitchen extraction package?

Would you like to build your own extraction system? Choose your hood and complete the installation with our extraction fan boxes, roof fans, speed controllers, galvanised ductwork, bends, connectors and ventilation accessories.

What is a commercial kitchen hood without a fan?

A commercial kitchen hood without a fan, also known as an unpowered extraction canopy, is supplied without an integrated extraction fan. It captures cooking fumes, steam and grease above the cooking appliances, while the air is extracted by a remote fan, generally installed in an extraction fan box or as a roof fan.

This configuration separates the hood from the fan and allows the extraction airflow to be matched more precisely to the size of the kitchen, cooking appliances and ductwork.

Our commercial kitchen hoods are manufactured from stainless steel, a material particularly suited to catering environments thanks to its strength, durability and ease of maintenance. Depending on the model, the extraction duct can be connected through the top, rear or side of the hood to suit the installation.

Extraction hood with remote fan, fan box or roof fan

A commercial kitchen extraction canopy is generally connected to a remotely installed fan. This allows the extraction system to be selected according to the required airflow and building configuration.

The fan can be installed in an extraction fan box located in a technical area, roof space or outdoors depending on the model. When extraction is routed through the roof, a roof extraction fan can be used.

For installations subject to specific fire-safety requirements, including certain high-power kitchens open to publicly accessible areas where the total power of cooking and hot-holding appliances reaches or exceeds 20 kW, F400/120 solutions may be required. The system must be selected according to the premises and applicable local regulations.

Our different commercial kitchen hoods without fans

The shape and dimensions of the extraction hood should be selected according to the cooking area, installed appliances and their layout. Ventilsogood offers several configurations to suit different commercial kitchen requirements.

Stainless steel wall-mounted canopy hood from 1 to 6 metres

Our stainless steel commercial wall-mounted extraction hood is designed for installation against a wall above cooking appliances. Its canopy design helps capture cooking fumes and steam effectively.

Available in different lengths, it can be connected to a remote extraction fan sized for the required airflow. For appliances requiring a larger capture area, discover our commercial extraction hood for ovens with an extra-deep canopy.

Condensation hood for commercial dishwashing areas

Our commercial condensation hood is specially designed to capture the large quantities of steam generated in commercial dishwashing areas, particularly above hood-type dishwashers and other steam-producing equipment.

Its stainless steel condensation filters help collect moisture. Depending on the model, a collection and drainage system facilitates condensate removal and hood maintenance.

Deep rectangular commercial extraction hood

Our rectangular commercial kitchen extraction hood provides a large capture area. Its extra depth makes it particularly suitable for large cooking areas and installations requiring greater coverage than a standard wall-mounted canopy.

Supplied without a fan, it can be connected to a remote extraction fan box or a roof fan sized according to the required airflow.

Commercial kitchen make-up air hood

Our commercial make-up air extraction hood combines the extraction of contaminated kitchen air with a supply of fresh air designed to replace part of the air being extracted.

Supplied without fans, it requires a suitable extraction system and supply-air system. This configuration is particularly useful in large commercial kitchens with high extraction airflow requirements.

Island extraction canopy for central cooking areas

Our commercial island extraction canopy is designed for cooking appliances positioned in a central island. Its large capture area collects cooking fumes and steam from several sides of the cooking zone.

An island canopy is generally connected to a remote extraction fan. The ductwork is then connected to an extraction fan box or roof fan depending on the installation.

How to choose a commercial kitchen hood without a fan

Choosing a commercial kitchen extraction hood depends on several factors: size of the cooking area, type and power of the appliances, duct length and diameter, number of bends, ceiling height and available fan location.

A fryer, griddle, oven, grill or complete cooking line will not have the same extraction requirements. The hood dimensions and required airflow should therefore be considered together with the complete ventilation ductwork.

Advantages of a commercial hood with a remote fan

Separating the hood from its fan provides greater flexibility when designing the extraction system. It allows higher airflow rates to be used and the fan to be positioned away from the cooking area where the building configuration allows.

This solution is particularly suitable for restaurants, pubs, pizzerias, takeaways, kebab shops, bakeries, food production areas, catering facilities and large commercial kitchens requiring an extraction system suited to their activity.

Everything you need for your extraction ductwork

A commercial kitchen hood without a fan must be completed with a correctly sized extraction fan and ventilation system. Ventilsogood offers extraction fan boxes, roof fans, centrifugal fans, speed controllers, galvanised ductwork, bends, connectors, clamps and ventilation accessories.

The main specifications of each product are shown on our product pages, including dimensions, airflow, electrical power, connection diameter and compatibility. This allows you to configure your installation according to the requirements of your commercial kitchen.

If you are unsure which equipment to choose, you can contact us with the dimensions of the cooking area, details of the installed appliances, ceiling height and a drawing or photographs of the installation.
