All of our DD and DDM 7/7, 7/9, 8/9, 9/9R, and 9/9T ventilation motors are compatible with all types of commercial range hoods. Only one of our models is specifically designed for semi-commercial range hoods. Please also note that large-diameter snail motors (9/9, 25/25, and DDM3600) are compatible only with very few restaurant range hoods, generally older models.

The 7/7, 7/9, or 8/9 snail fan can be installed directly into dynamic range hoods. Conversely, the 9/9, 10/10, 12/12, or 15/15 snail motor is usually a dual-outlet centrifugal motor used in an exhaust housing outside the kitchen range hood. These motors can also be used as ventilation motors (for exhaust or intake), air handling unit motors, mechanical ventilation motors, etc.

How to Choose the Right Snail Motor?

Choosing a snail motor depends on several factors, such as the size of the original model, the range hood or cabinet in which it will be installed, the required airflow, and the power supply. In fact, depending on the size of your kitchen and how you use your range hood, you’ll need to choose a snail fan with an appropriate airflow rate. Airflow rate is the volume of air the fan can exhaust in one hour. It is measured in m³/h. The higher the airflow, the more powerful the motor. Next, the dimensions of the motor outlet must match those of your exhaust duct. Similarly, the size of the snail motor must match the interior dimensions of your restaurant range hood or your current exhaust cabinet.

DDM and DD 7/7 Screw Fans

The DDM7/7 and DD7/7 snail motors are designed to provide excellent extraction in commercial settings. The DDM7/7 model, with a capacity of 1,700 m³/h, and a power rating of 300W, is ideal for range hoods measuring 1 to 2.5 meters. The DD 7/7 snail fan motor, which is more energy-efficient at 147W, is suitable for hoods with a height of 400 mm, providing approximately 1,500 m³/h of extraction capacity. These motors are valued for their ease of integration and efficient operation in fast-food restaurants, kebab shops, fry shops, snack bars, and food trucks.

DDM 7/9 and 8/9 snail motors

The DDM7/9 and DDM8/9 motors are suitable for larger kitchens, with extraction capacities of 2,600 m³/h and 3,000 m³/h., respectively. The DDM7/9 fits perfectly under hoods ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 meters in height, while the DDM8/9 is designed for hoods 450 mm high in spaces ranging from 2 to 3 meters. Their robust construction and careful balancing ensure reduced vibration and a long service life.

DDM 9/7 and 9/9 Screw Motors

/h The DDM9/7 screw fan, with an airflow rate of 2,900 m³/h and power consumption of 420W, as well as the DDM 9/9 snail fan, which delivers 3,600 m³ with 550W, are solid choices for range hoods measuring 2 to 3 meters in width and at least 500 mm in height, or for off-wall units. These models feature a central impeller that reduces vibrations, thereby increasing their durability and making these motors suitable for establishments with high extraction requirements.

The DD 9/9 snail-type motor is 400° certified/2h, and is specifically designed to meet fire safety standards, offering a capacity of 3,600 m³/h and a power rating of 550W. It is the ideal solution for large-scale installations that must also meet strict regulatory requirements.
