The DD 146/180 Motor is a double-inlet centrifugal fan motor from EMC (reference RF4C 146/180 K040), designed to replace a motor on a communal or commercial mechanical ventilation fan box, a small commercial kitchen extraction hood, or a plant room fan (air curtain, unit heater), with airflow up to 800 m³/h under optimal conditions.

Use and compatibility in communal ventilation systems and plant rooms
The DD 146/180 motor fits on a communal or commercial mechanical ventilation fan box, a small commercial kitchen extraction hood, or a plant room fan such as an air curtain or unit heater. It is supplied with capacitor, terminal block and mounting frame included, ready to replace a faulty motor without complex adaptation. Compatible with fan boxes of all makes, including Caladair, Vim, Atlantic or ebm. Before ordering, check the dimensions of your current motor against the attached technical datasheet to confirm the exact compatibility of the frame and the direction of airflow discharge.
Installation and wiring
The motor connects on 230 V single phase via its terminal block and capacitor, already fitted. The IP44 protection rating is suitable for a standard installation in a fan box or plant room. For a damper environment, adding a weatherproof enclosure (junction box type) allows an upgrade to IP55. Electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified professional, this is a condition of the warranty.
Points to check before ordering
- Compare the dimensions of your old motor with the attached technical datasheet (mounting hole centres, outlet diameter, overall height) before confirming compatibility.
- Check that your duct diameter falls, as a guide, within the 160 to 200 mm range, depending on your system's configuration.
- Confirm that the available supply is indeed 230 V single phase.
- Estimate the airflow actually required for your premises or extraction hood: the maximum airflow of 800 m³/h corresponds to optimal conditions, actual airflow depends on elbows, duct length and filters fitted.
- If your fan box requires a different mounting frame, remember to add the appropriate fitting kit to your order.
